The Odyssey

Some films give you a great experience you can't forget. Some films get you immersed and will have you at the edge of your seats. Some films make you cheer and get emotional as you feel the highs that the cinema gives. This film does EVERYTHING. Christopher Nolan delivers again, and this time with a banger so good that I prefer this over more than half of his filmography. His own spin on Homer's poem is so magnificent that he proved again why he is THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. One of the most beautifully shot films I've ever seen, and this is Hoyte van Hoytema's best work... and HE PICTURIZED INTERSTELLAR. Ludwig Goransson's score does the job well and at times feels like he took notes from Hans Zimmer because he uses similar motifs Zimmer used in previous Nolan films. Matt Damon IS Odysseus, and Anne Hathaway IS Penelope. They are worthy of a nomination, and so is (surprisingly) John Leguizamo as Eumaeus. Robert Pattinson did great and made me hate Antinous, and Tom Holland just did his job as Telemachus. The emotions in this film hit BIG TIME, and the last 1 hour is such an epic payoff that every single part of the 3rd act is a 10/10. The whole film is epic as it needed to be, and Christopher Nolan did an extremely well job of making the film grounded while still having mythological elements and making us feel the gods in this world. There are very few flaws in my eyes, and this is up there with some of Christopher Nolan's best. THIS IS CINEMA!
