Devon Birdsong's MovieNerd Review for The Prestige

The Prestige

Movie

2006

The Prestige confirmed what I had already suspected when I watched Memento: Nolan does his best work when the scope and budget of his movies are smaller. For me, this and Memento are his best work. This movie's working metaphor can apply to art, film, magic, basically any form of craft. Even more compellingly, it also asks us about the lives that we have individually crafted. It's a masterpiece.
