Dunkirk
Movie
2017
As someone from Dunkirk, I was eager to see this film, which had been the talk of my hometown. Although very impressive, I couldn't get fully immersed in it because I knew the locations too well. Let me explain: the magic of cinema allows the director to use locations according to the needs of his script, which results in a succession of scenes that give the impression of following on from each other in the film but which in reality are very far apart. It was all these little details, which probably wouldn't be noticeable to the average viewer, that took me out of the film and prevented me from enjoying it as I should have. Added to this were a few anachronisms that, in my opinion, could have been avoided. Otherwise, it's a very respectable film.
